He told me he has purchased a Collie(!) to have at Cambridge.  I at once told him he would be safe to get bitten, collies being proverbially <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oldtimefarmshepherd.org\/historic-collie-articles\/changes-1901-1950\/british-dogs-their-points-selection-and-show-preparation-1903\/\" target=\"_blank\">treacherous<\/a>.  He seemed disturbed at the idea!  He goes up on Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>. After prayers I found <a title=\"Who\u2019s Who?\" href=\"http:\/\/tanner.westminster.org.uk\/?page_id=23#boult\">Boult<\/a> in the Yard. Took him off to tea with Father and then left him to attend a meeting of the Shakespeare Society and try and set his wobbly Society of my creation on its legs.  We got up about 9 members and I was elected President with <a title=\"Who\u2019s Who?\" href=\"http:\/\/tanner.westminster.org.uk\/?page_id=23#low\" target=\"_blank\">Low<\/a> as Secretary and <a title=\"Who\u2019s Who?\" href=\"http:\/\/tanner.westminster.org.uk\/?page_id=23#bonner\">Bonner<\/a> as V[ice] President. I brought Low back and showed him the beauties of \u2018Grants\u2019 and then walked with Boult round St. James Park. <\/p>\n<p>The House behaved angelically between 9 and 10 and all were in when I went round the dormitories, though the new boys only just pulled up the clothes as I turned up the light.  <a title=\"Who\u2019s Who?\" href=\"http:\/\/tanner.westminster.org.uk\/?page_id=23#auntmary\">Aunt Mary<\/a> and myself made a journey up Library this evening, partly for me to get a book and also to get <a title=\"Who\u2019s Who?\" href=\"http:\/\/tanner.westminster.org.uk\/?page_id=23#hobson\">Hobson<\/a>\u2019s which had been left <a title=\"Glossary\" href=\"http:\/\/tanner.westminster.org.uk\/?page_id=21#up\">\u2018Up School\u2019<\/a>.
